Working through CMCES, the CDCQ of St-Jérôme is currently working on two projects which require the design and fabrication of a steel mold tool to test items produced with recycled material. These projects are being undertaken collaboratively with St. Clair College and the possibility of having Student Researchers involved at both colleges was an opportunity that could not be missed.

The tooling project has been carried out mostly by two Student Researchers under the close supervision of a Faculty Researcher and R&D professionals from both teams to ensure accurate and precise fabrication of the tools.

Throughout the entire design process, the active participation of the Research Team from the initial design phase, to review meetings and the final manufacture, has proven to be an exceptional hands-on experience for the Research Students involved.

Dans le cadre du CMCES, le CDCQ du cégep de Saint-Jérôme travaille actuellement sur deux projets nécessitant la conception et la fabrication d'un outil de moulage en acier afin de tester des articles produits avec des matériaux recyclés provenant de notre développement avec nos partenaires industriels. La possibilité d'impliquer des étudiants chercheurs dans les deux collèges était une opportunité que nous ne pouvions pas manquer.

Ce projet d'outillage fut réalisé principalement par les étudiants chercheurs. Afin de garantir une fabrication précise et exacte des outils, une étroite supervision fut assurée par une équipe de chercheurs de la faculté et de professionnels de la R&D. L'expérience s'est avérée pratique pour les deux étudiants en recherche.
