What is CMCES?

The Canadian Materials Circular Economy Syndicate (CMCES) is a network of Canadian colleges supporting the development of new, or the optimization of existing technologies and products in the area of advanced material development and processing that will lead to the creation of a material based circular economy.

Through funding from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, CMCES aims to create a national advanced materials innovation network dedicated to commercializing value-added technologies in collaboration with Canadian companies.

Mission: Providing research & development, technical and commercialization support to Canada’s small and medium-sized companies in support of a materials circular economy through the advancement of recycled materials and renewables.

Funders:

Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC)

Funding Program:

The Applied Research Technology Partnership (ARTP) grant allow post-secondary education institutions to assist small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with innovative and technical developments to boost economic growth locally and nationally. These grants provide the opportunity for students to participate in applied research projects and gain real-life training to set them apart from their peers when entering the workforce.
